On this date in 1933, Two British-built aircraft, the Westland Wapiti V modified into the Wallace, become the first to fly over the top of Mt. Everest and to photograph the summit from above.

Thanks for the input! And I agree with the Gazelle. That would be a rush.

Ah, I would love to try out a Gazelle. :-)

Hughes 500 is def a contender but will have to be the gazelle for helicopters

Comment by Jairus Duncan on March 30, 2012 at 4:54pm

So far I would say the MD500, just because of all the episodes of Magnum P.I. I watched growing up.

The 'flown' list so far: C172, C150, PA232, MD500, AS350, S300C, F28, R44

Of all the aircraft that you have personally flown, what is your favorite? Why?

Do you want to share the thrill of flight with friends and family? The A/V-ATOR HD GPS Camera System lets you capture the wonder and awe of aviation.

On this day in 1927, Charles Lindbergh registers his entry in the Raymond Orteig challenge for the first man to cross the Atlantic Ocean solo. The challenge and a $25,000 prize had been issued in 1920, but no one had so far been successful in making the flight (Cessna Flyer).
