Hello all,

I am currently contracting in Afghanistan as a crewchief on CH-46 helicopters. The time away from the family is starting to wear on me. I was wondering if anyone out there might know how the job market for an A&P mechanic in Maine is looking these days. I am particularly interested in the Bangor area. Any information is welcome. I thank you all for your time.

Hi Louis,

My name is Bob Hart and I am Senior Avionics Consultant with APG Eastern Avionics in Florida.  I moved to Florida from Maine in 1997.   I have maintained contacts in Maine.   It's a beautiful state and I miss cruising on Penobscot Bay in my 1957 42" Matthews cabin Cruiser and eating all that "lobsta"!

Contact Mark Witham @ Maine Aero Service in Bangor:  mark.witham@maineaero.com

Mark is Avionics but he would know what's going on at Bangor Airport as far as opportunities!

The Runway at Bangor is about 12,000 feet!.  I once was # 3 to take off behind two F-16's!  My takeoff was  a bit less

"exciting"!  Good Luck!  Feel free to mention to Mark that you were talking to Bob Hart at APG.  Bob

Hi Bob,

Thanks for the information. I will contact Mark this week. Sorry I took so long to respond. I was on vacation and the internet takes a backseat when I am at home.

You're right about Maine being a beautiful state. I would love to raise my kids there.

 Thanks again. Lou
