Woohoo! Just passed the IFR checkride. Was tough, but not as bad as I thought it would be. IFR is certainly a new way of flying and so far I like it.

Did my written today.  Like Jason said, about 3 or 4 questions on airport environment.  Odd, I thought.  Also had quite a few on en route and arrival limitations.

I took the written exam today (passed), I was surprised at the number of questions about airport markings. I used King's Cessna kit and Sporty's study buddy to practice, neither of those put much emphasis on the runway marking questions. Good luck!

As flying goes, it's the usual suspects, fixation and ommission.  Happy to say, though, after my last few flights the scan has improved tremedously.  The persistant challenge is managing skill-fade between flight periods.  I've been as long as 12 - 13weeks between flights--a long time when you are learning instruments.

I suppose mine is a bit unique since I am not a full-time flight student and I've got to travel to take in my training.  Greatest challenge for me is arranging the time to spend with the books and get the knowledge in.  As flying goes, getting used to interpreting the instruments at the start was a real head job, but once over that, and all other things being equal, it is getting in the books, mos def.  Having to juggle a full-time and a parttime job, making that time for study, for me, is mos def the hardest part.

I have just purchased ForeFlight for the Ipad - wow, how this makes flying so much easier and safer - has anyone had any experience of flying with these applications - if not then my suggestions is that you seriously look at it
