Via an article on a 5-blade MT propeller option for the Pilatus PC12 NG I stumbled across claims that the interior of this aircraft is very noisy indeed; not only noisier than other comparable planes but actually to a level at which routinely used noise protection would have to be recommended even for passengers. The MT propeller option, by the way, is supposed to reduce internal (and external) noise levels.

Can anyone shed further light on this? Is the famed Pilatus really such a noisy aircraft? Do you have personal experience with this and/or test data?

I very much like the thought of piloting the PC 12 one day and am simply curious.

Many thanks for any input

Peter
