Before you invest too much money and emotional energy make sure that you can pass a first class physical with no fibbing or omissions on the form.

I qualified for my first class medical and do you have your ifr rating and if so how hard was it to get it

Continue to study, fly and be the best pilot you can.  Once you have gotten your comercial license don't stop become a flight instructor and build your time and as you are building time, opportunities will present themselves.  Everytime  you are flying with someone, it could possibly be a interview for the next job....When you are in the flight school enviroment...you will have more chances of hearing about a job than if you are sitting at home!! The previous posts are correct, but I have to add one more. You have to really want to fly for a living and It's got to burn inside you.There are pilots who do make six-figures flying heavy metal across the Atlantic, but they're the exception not the rule. However one can still make a middle-class wage flying, even with the mergers, bankruptcies. Airlines come and go and furloughs, layoffs and terminations happen, but you can't beat the view from the office. My advice is go for it. Good Luck!
