HeliRussia 2012
Red Box International were represented at this years Heli Russia exhibition by our distributor for the region; AEGE Ltd.
The show held in Moscow over the 17th-19th May saw the Red Box RBSC100 unit providing power to an Agusta Westland AW139 helicopters and generating increased interest from a host of potential customers, it has become a tradition to power aircrafts at shows with the Red Box units.
This year’s show was larger and more significant then in previous years, and Red Box International is very thankful to AEGE Ltd for providing a platform for the company’s products to be displayed to a wider audience. There was a wide interest in all of the Red Box units ranging from battery start units to continuous and combination units.
This year the sun shone on Sywell and AeroExpo 2012 was bustling with people. It was good to see all the old faces again and to meet up with old friends. Ian Harding, Red Box Technical Director, joined us on the stand for the first time in a long time. Ian is the designer of most of the product range and has an unrivalled understanding of our ground power units and aircraft requirements.
Ian said “it’s nice to get out of the office. When you are stuck in a room doing constant research and development you sometimes forget there is a world out side. For me it’s nice to meet the end users of the products I design, it gives me a better understanding of where the products should be heading”.
Ian will be trying to join us at more shows this year, including Farnborough where he will be managing the team providing ground power for the aircraft.
Another sunny day at Sun n Fun. The show remains busy with record show sales for Red Box units. Today we were please to help out Kelly Aerospace with a ground power unit. They needed it to plug into their Cessna while they ran 'Thermacool Electronic Air Conditioning' . This system provides ground cooling at a touch of a button, dropping the temperature by 20˚ in 5 minutes.
Aero GB Relaunch
Phil was lucky enough to be invited to the official relaunch of Aero GB along with over 100 potential customers and selected guests attend an open day showpiece to exhibit new technology in surveillance & surveying, downloading various imaging types, infrared, thermal imaging, high definition, and cineflex amongst many others. These can be used for a variety of applications such as corridor mapping, traffic monitoring, counter terrorism, event security.
The event is being supported by several supplier companies such as Sennheiser, Airbourne Technologies, Vulcan Air, Tecnam UK Ltd, Broadcast Networks and of course Red Box International.
The networking event held at Aero GB’s HQ at Biggin Hill Airport is a big success and has provided numerous opportunities for customers and suppliers alike.
The official press launch of the Festival Of Speed and Aviation Exhibition was an event in its self.
In true Goodwood fashion the press day held yesterday was a spectacular and exciting event. We were very pleased to welcome Henrik Burkal from Diamond, Robert Norman from Transair, Brian Kane from Heli Air, Richard Kerr from Piper and John McMillan from Heritage to the event, all of whom will be displaying at this coming years aviation exhibition
The day began with a bite to eat on the lawn in front of Goodwood house, quickly followed by a stirring speech from Lord March, who spoke enthusiastically about the new Aviation Exhibition being added to the Goodwood Festival of Speed this year.
All guests were treated to a ride in one of the many exotic & priceless cars up the hill climb then dropped off at the start of the thrilling rally stage. The true highlight for most people involved was the chance to take a high speed race around the track, many off them making their way shakily from the rally cars after a white knuckle ride.
If the press day is anything to go by the main event, 28th June – 1st July, will be something not to be missed.
Extract from the Telegraph this morning.
‘Estimates of the ticket-only attendance are for 180,000 spectators, but they'll be well spread out, visiting massive car manufacturers' stands, watching gigantic television screens, boggling at Gerry Judah's Lotus sculpture in front of the house, getting dusty by the forest rally stages at the top of the hill, watching their children at "Junior Goodwood", or displays of BMX and mountain bike riding, or attending an aviation display, which will see aircraft makers demonstrating the latest in civilian and military aircraft. Some of them will be in the air, too, with the traditional flypast at lunchtime on each day, including the Red Arrows, Typhoon and Eurofighter displays and the UK debut for the Air Bus in flight.’
