I am an ex-truck driver who decided to give up the freedom of the road and go for the freedom of the skies. I got my private license several yrs ago and am currently in Kissimmee FL going through instrument, commercial and multi engine training. Flying is something I have wanted to do ever since I was a child.

I soloed on my 16th, private on my 17th, commercial on my 18th, cfi on 21, multi-22, cfii-23, mecfi-24. One of the youngest examiners at 31. Dual examiner in Stl & San Antonio.
Grew up on and I really mean grew up on St.Clair airport in MO. I started my own flight school-banner service on an island in TX, twice. My last business was giving biplane tours and rides on the beach in TX. Loved that more than anything. Retired from flying in 2008.
Now own a rental service and seafood market and restaurant. I'm an author and my kids are all successful. Like I said a book. But it is fun doing different things throughout your life. I admired my brother cause he could do the same thing all his life and he admired me cause I could just start something and succeed. Oh, well. Good luck to you, Jim
Good luck in your endeavor of flying for a career. It happened to me and I ended flying a Great Lakes Biplane on the coast giving biplane ride-tours. It was wonderful.
I also wrote a book about my father who started out as a barnstormer and ended up as the National Flight Instructor of the Year. You might like it, "On the Wings of Eagles" at amazon.com for $2.99
