Orgne had one of their beautiful machines at the HeliExpo in Orlando this year.  I am very jealous!!  I am flying law enforcement now, but do want to get into the EMS side of it eventually.  I am up to about 1300 hours and finished my Instrument Rating; working on the CFI now.  I have passed the written and the FOI, just need to work on the check ride.  I have a quiet personality, so getting myself to talk through each of the maneuvers to turning out to be pretty challenging for me.

So how do you like flying EMS?  I thinking it would be more rewarding than law enforcement.  I do like finding the bad guys, foot pursuits and vehicle pursuits, but in reality they don't happen too often or they are over with by the time we get there.  And it is not too often that we stumble across something in progress.  So basically we turn a lot of circles in the same old areas.  At least in EMS you actually can stretch the helicopters legs a little bit and go to different places.

I saw that Hendrick Motorsports is looking for a pilot for their Bell 430.  Talk about a dream job, but they are requiring 4000 hours.  I'm not quite there yet.  I am sure there will be a few thousand applications for that position!!

Well keep in touch and if you have a few minutes, give me a inside scoop in the EMS side of it and what I should look for in a company or if you know of any that I should definitely stay away from.

Talk to you later.

Mike

Hey Neil.  Mike here from Ocean, one of your students.  How are things going?  Last I heard you were flying for an EMS operation in Canada.
