Hi - suggest joining the Aircraft Spruce group as they will be able to give you some great advise - also the stearman group may be able to help. Good luck with the painting and post some pics sounds great!

I have used house paint twice with good results, if you can find flex agent (it isn't always easy to find) it will work excellent. And cheap.
