Not much difference between the 172 and 182 other than the fact that the 182 is a bit more tail heavy, meaning requires more elevator back pressure. Only goes about 10-20 knots faster and has an adjustable prop. I would say go ahead and train the the 182, that way you have more high performance time in your logbook!

I live in Estero.  I have been using Paragon since I started back in October last year.  I am almost done with IFR training.  Paragon planes are great.  I have been bouncing around the different planes like it was my personal fleet.  As soon as I got my PPL, they checked me out in the CTLS and then the 206.  Now I'm starting on the Tecnam twin.  I can't justify buying one airplane when I have 4 (or 8 if you count them all).
