Brooke Roberts was a student pilot who soloed and then got into more trouble than you can imagine. You can read excerpts on Amazon or my website. Are you going for an instrument rating? I think you would enjoy that aspect of flying. Your mention of Meteor Crater reminded me of another story. A captain pointed the crater out to one of his new copilots as they were inbound to Las Vegas and he asked what it was. The captain explained that it was where a meteor landed and he said, "Oh man; it almost hit that hotel." Fly safe and enjoy.
